We look forward to welcoming you to our 49th season's Spring Concert. Alumni singers from across generations offer a rich program of beloved favorites and meaningful new works, including the premier of a piece entitled "The Gift to Sing," composed by director Sean Ivory.
The piece sets James Weldon Johnson's poem to music:
Sometimes the mist overhangs my path,
And blackening clouds about me cling;
But, oh, I have a magic way
To turn the gloom to cheerful day -
I softly sing.
Other pieces we are singing include "Reincarnations" (Samuel Barber), "Sure on this Shining Night" (Morten Lauridsen), Sicut Cervus" (Palestrina) and "The Road Home" (Stephen Paulus). There will also be a few surprisingly familiar songs which should delight you and showcase the choir's amazing versatility.
No tickets required. All are welcome!
